About YSM
We're Angela Braun and Taylor Rowe, co-founders of YOU SHOULD MEET.
We both grew up in Los Angeles and met at our first job in entertainment. While we technically started as coworkers (a title that still makes Angela roll her eyes whenever Taylor brings it up), we quickly became best friends and creative collaborators.
From the beginning, we bonded over the same things: an instinct to get to know everyone around us, a love of discovering what's happening in culture, and an endless exchange of recommendations. We text each other all day, constantly send articles, restaurants, movies, songs, and people back and forth, and frequently joke that we share a single brain cell.
YOU SHOULD MEET is an event and discovery collective that grew out of a simple feeling: there should be more spaces where ambitious, creative, and socially curious people can meet without it feeling transactional. We wanted to create the kinds of rooms we'd always been looking for—places where conversations happen naturally, new friendships form, ideas are exchanged, and something meaningful can come from simply being in the right place at the right time.
Through thoughtfully-curated gatherings and YOU SHOULD KNOW, our editorial arm, we're building a community around the people, ideas, and conversations we think are worth sharing.
